New York City Winter Sports

Basketball and Hockey are two popular winter sports that are in full swing in February. Both offer plenty of action and excitement, making them perfect spectator sports. There are four professional teams that play in the New York area.

Basketball
New York has two NBA teams. The New York Knicks play in Madison Square Garden, right in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. The New Jersey Nets play at Prudential Center, which is located in New Jersey but reachable by public transportation from Manhattan.

Getting to Madison Square Garden
Since MSG is located above a major transportation hub (Penn Station), it is very easy to get to using public transportation. By subway, take the A, C, E, 1, 2, or 3 trains to 34th Street/Penn Station. Amtrack, Long Island Railroad, and New Jersey Transit trains all come in to Penn Station.


New York City Museums

Metropolitan Museum of Art

February is a cold month and therefore a good time for being inside one of New York City's famous museums. There is an outstanding selection to choose from.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art (the Met) is one of the foremost art museums in the world. The masterpieces at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) do not disappoint, and at the Guggenheim, the building itself is part of the attraction.
