NYC certainly has its share of pricey hotels, but there are plenty of decent New York City budget hotels too.
If you are traveling on a shoestring or just enjoy an excellent value, this page is for you. The following hotels are more basic than luxurious, but if you plan to spend most of your time outside the hotel room, you may not mind the lack of amenities.
All the hotels on this page can be booked for less than $200/night and most are under $150/night. If you're not too picky about where you sleep, these New York City budget hotels can save you loads of money (which you can instead spend on restaurants or a Broadway show).

You may have noticed that many of the hotels have shared, rather than private, bathrooms. This is a common feature for budget hotels where bathrooms are located in the hall rather than individual rooms and shared among guests staying on that hall. TripAdvisor Reviewers for the hotels above overwhelming say that shared bathrooms are clean and they rarely, if ever, had to wait to use them.
